Uses
Software, hradware, and other tools I use. Obviously not exhaustive.
Software
Void Linux
I have used NixOS for the last several years, and it's been great. However, like the saying about hammers and nails, things get out of hand. I like the simplicity of Void Linux. Not to mention it is rock solid and my base Linux knowledge doesn't wither away.
Alpine Linux
For servers and containers. Very small. I name my servers after mathematicians and logicians. So thats fun.
Emacs
Full convert. Don't even use evil anymore!
Nix
While abandoning NixOS (for now), I will never abandon the package manager.
Audiobookshelf
Running a private instance for my audiobooks. So much money sunk into them to tickle my ears, and when the service you pay for doesn't like to work on the phone.. Well you do this.
Programming
C
In many ways the perfect language.
Rust
In many ways the polarising language, but I do find it more helpful than anything else.
Haskell
Fell in love with this during my graduate studies, and I try to tinker with it whenever I can.
Elisp
Lisps are very fun.
Clojure
For scripting when I normally would have used Python. Again, lisps are fun.
Services
SourceHut
My preferred code forge.
Hetzner
For cloud stuff and storage.
Hardware
XPS 15 9510 (Laptop)
Been using since 2021 as my primary workstation. I think I lucked out on QC, as unlike many mine hasn't had problems.
iPhone 17 (Phone)
I'm not into photography so this is a phone that will last me another 5 years. I'm not exactly a massive fan of this company, but their phones do exactly what I want.
MX Master 3S (Mouse)
Chonky, feels good in the hand.
MX Keys Mini (Keyboard)
I usually prefer low profile mechanical keyboards, but my Keychron gave up the ghost, so now I'm relying on this piece of garbage I had laying around.
Svaneke (Sit-stand desk)
Alright, this is a luxury item. It was the cheapest electrical one I could find locally. And hoo-boy, I have absolutely no regrets. Considering the price, I'm surprised it's not a rickety piece of junk. I highly recommend these types of desks.
